This program is designed to enhance English fluency for intermediate and advanced English As a Second Language speakers, focusing on both speaking and listening skills. It is designed to serve individuals who need to improve their English conversational skills for employment or career/educational purposes. The groups will be led by USA native English speakers, and will provide an opportunity for practicing English conversational skills in a relaxed and enjoyable way, without the pressure of speaking “perfectly”. Sessions will also include supplementary content to enhance English conversation and usage. Everyone in the group will have an opportunity to join the conversation about interesting topics. For some classes short articles may be distributed prior to class which will serve as the basis for class discussion on a wide range of topics.
Who can participate?
The program is designed to serve: individuals who are currently employed or working in internships and who use English in their job, individuals preparing for the conversational or listening section of an English language exam, or individuals planning career related travel or study in an English speaking country. Participants must be at the intermediate or advanced level of conversational English, and be interested in improving their English conversational skills. Participants must be able to commit to regular group attendance.
When/Where will the groups meet?
Groups will meet for four weeks during the month of January 2018, beginning January 3, or 4, 2018 and ending January 29 or 30, 2018. Groups will meet twice per week for a total of eight sessions. Groups will meet for 90 minutesevery session. The schedule will be as follows:
Mondays and Wednesdays 6:45pm to 8:15pm (first session Wednesday, January 3; last session Monday, January 29.)
Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:45pm to 8:15pm (first session Thursday, January 4; last session Tuesday, January 30.)
